Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland, is a model and actor. She made her feature film debut with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Siobhan Donavan played the role in A Prayer for the Dying in 1987, Charlotte was in Taffin (in 1998) as well as Rebecca Flannery played Major League II. Doody was asked by a photographer to model who asked her to perform the role of a model. She then developed an industry-wide career in commercial modeling. Doody was extremely cautious about doing the glamorous work or doing nude. This rule extended into the acting profession. In the event that she was brought to director's attention for a James Bond film, Doody was offered a small role on the film A View to a Kill (1985). Doody appeared in John Willis Screen World Volume 2 as one of 12 promising new actors for 1986. 38. Doody was 18 years old as she played the character of Doody in Bond she was still the oldest Bond actress until today. In 1987, Mickey Rourke starred in A Prayer for the Dying in which she played IRA member Siobhan Doovan. Doody was a silent actress in the 1987 version from The Secret Garden, playing Archibald Craven's dream wife Lilias. Doody's first leading role came in the 1988 episode of Jim Henson fantasy series The Storyteller as Sapsorrow opposite John Hurt Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. She also appeared with Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. The most memorable part to date was that of Austrian Nazi sympathizer as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody has been in three films with James Bond actors. Doody has co-starred alongside Jonathan Pryce, in the British miniseries Selling Hitler. The series was an inspiration for the Hitler Diaries publishing scam. Then she moved to Hollywood. She was replaced by Cybill Shepherd in the L'Oreal spokesperson part. Then she played Flannery Sheen's wife and agent opposite Charlie Sheen, as Major League II was released in 1994. Doody was a part of The 2004 British comedy The Actors. Michael Caine portrayed her at a ceremony to receive an award. in 2004, Doody starred in a scene with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), which was a pamphlet that described the Holocaust. Doody was also cast in Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). She later guest starred in RTE's medical drama The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of horror classic The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. The show featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way which was a film from 2014. Almeria the tierra de cinema award, and an Almeria Walk of Fame star were awarded on the 21st November 2018.
